Joachim Loew: Germany’s Fashion King
If there is any reason this summer’s V-Neck Tee fashion trend survives into the depths of winter in the form of a V-Neck Sweater, it’s because of Joachim Loew.
Mr. Loew and his lucky shirt have started a sweater frenzy in Deutschland that you know will cross the pond once Martin Tyler says something about it on ESPN this afternoon. These sweaters have become so popular that the man has even coined his own COLOR. When my mom (who thinks Joachim is quite strapping) calls and asks if I want a sweater in ‘Jogi’ Blue, I’ll know that the madness has gone global.
The best part of this story is that the Germans are so fetzig over this sweater that many have had to rush to the Netherlands to buy up the only remaining Jogi-editions of this winterwear-turned-summer fad. You wonder if German-Dutch sweater relations will take a hit if Germany makes the Final.
Now excuse me, while I go stand in line and Lord & Taylor…
